Alessandro Hatami
Position: Managing Director
Before joining the team at PayPoint.net, Alessandro was Head of Large Merchant Services at PayPal UK, where he was responsible for increasing the adoption of PayPal amongst the UK’s biggest online organisations. Prior to that, he was at GE Capital where he focused on both the consumer and commercial lending markets in Europe and South America.
Annoyingly well-educated, Alessandro has an MBA from INSEAD and an MSc from the University of Rome in Engineering. He speaks fluent French, Italian, Persian and some ‘bar Spanish’. He’s also a keen collector of tribal art – an interest he picked up while working in West Africa.
Ben McGill
Position: Sales Director
Ben has spent the last eight years providing payments solutions to the ecommerce sector. His introduction to payments came whilst at Deutsche Bank backed Paybox where he formed part of the team responsible for the rollout in the UK. Ben has a wealth of experience working in online payments and successfully bringing a wide range of internet payment solutions to market.
Ben graduated with both a Diploma in Marketing & Business Management and a Degree in Commerce in Marketing & Management. Ben is a sports enthusiast and in his spare time can be found on the golf course.
Fiona Brown
Position: Head of Risk
Fiona joined from First Data Resources and brought with her an extensive risk management experience of the online payments industry. At PayPoint.net she is responsible for the management of credit risks, fraud and chargebacks – including the maintenance of securities for our online merchants.
When Fiona’s not beating up the bad e-guys, she relaxes at her Westcliff on Sea home, doing family stuff and walking dogs in the rain.
Matt Hart
Position: Chief Technical Officer
After studying for a PhD in electro-chemical engineering at Bath University, Matt took his love of mathematical modelling and process optimisation to eCommerce. After working for two years at a web agency as Marketing Science Manager (where he performed website traffic analysis and search engine optimisation for a client base of over 500 large domains) he decided that ecommerce was far more interesting and joined the embryonic Metacharge in 2002.
Nicole Grainger
Position: Marketing Director
Since making the traditional Australian pilgrimage to Europe, Nicole has never looked back. A strategic marketer with heavyweight online and IT&T experience, she came to PayPoint.net from Yahoo! Search Marketing where she was Head of Marketing for UK & Northern Europe. Both BT and Citrix Systems Ltd, the global leader in access infrastructure solutions, have also been ‘Graingered’… and are, of course, all the better for it.
Steve Phillips
Position: Operations Director
Steve has extensive experience in the financial sector, having held senior management roles at American Express and the Co-operative Bank (launching SMILE) and more recently at the Royal Bank of Scotland. Whilst at RBS his role covered platform stabilisation and the migration/integration of their two global payment platforms: Bibit and Worldpay.
