Michael joined PayPoint plc in 2007 as International Director, with a responsibility to extend PayPoint services into new markets. His primary focus was developing the business in Ireland (as Chairman of PayPoint Ireland) and Romania. Previous to this Michael spent four years as the CEO of Ukash and also founded 2020 Solutions, the UK’s first mobile communications category management solutions business. Prior to his roles in the mobile and payments industries, Michael enjoyed a successful career in the food industry.
Long Description
Michael joined PayPoint plc in 2007 as International Director, with a responsibility to extend PayPoint services into new markets. His primary focus was developing the business in Ireland (as Chairman of PayPoint Ireland) and Romania.
Previous to this Michael spent four years as the CEO of Ukash. He came to this position from EPOSS, a start-up in electronic product delivery and payment solutions. In his capacity as CEO, Michael developed the business from a standing start to a profitable company with a circa £250m turnover. EPOSS was sold to First Data Corporation, a Fortune 100 company. In 2000, Michael founded 2020 Solutions, the UK’s first mobile communications category management solutions business (part of Caudwell Communications group).
Prior to his roles in the mobile and payments industries, Michael enjoyed a successful career in the food industry at Geest Foods, Premier Brands, Buxted Foods, Redbridge Holdings and Mars. A champion of start-ups, Michael also set up The Pasta Company, which quickly emerged as the UK’s fresh pasta market brand leader, with sales of £5 million and a 26% retail market share.
