Tenants can pay online, by telephone, face-to-face, or at the Post Office. Our payments ecosystem helps to make your tenants’ lives easier, by giving them choice and control over how they pay, including card payments or direct from their bank account using Open Banking. This includes payments in-person, payments at the Post Office, Payzone or PayPoint, or paying on the go using the Smart Mobile app.
Open Banking is a new way for your customers to pay. It sends the amount due directly from the customers’ bank account, using their mobile banking app or online bank account, with no requirement to share their bank account details.
With Open Banking payments, your customer receives a secure link from the organisation they’re paying, asking them for the payment. Using the secure link, the customer then pays direct from their bank account. The money is immediately transferred to the merchant’s bank account. (This option is also available to customers making a ‘self-service’ payment online).
As well as being a simple process, Open Banking enables organisations to get paid in real time, it can lower costs, reduce fraud risks and also improve reconciliation. Plus, it’s a simple and secure process for customers.
